Stephanie Lapensee is managing our philanthropic initiatives. Stephanie worked in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years and has raised $120 million for organizations and causes. Her experience includes the UN Foundation, UNEP, The Enough Project, and Save the Children. We’re thrilled to have her insights into strategic fundraising, public and private sector reforms and advocacy efforts. On the weekends, when she’s not chasing after her 18-month-old son (and husband), you can find her drinking coffee and reading a good book.

Susan Kramer is managing our social media and PR efforts. Sooz, as we call her, has in-house and agency brand-building experience for a variety of lifestyle, consumer tech, and wine companies. She’s skilled at helping brands connect and interact with their followers and the media on a more personal level. She jumped at the opportunity to be part of such an innovative solution to climate change and is thrilled to bring her experience to such an inspired cause. Outside the office, Sooz enjoys taking long walks with Penny.

Krista Kahl assists with operations, volunteer coordination and fills in doing anything that helps make the office run smoothly. She’s a professional photographer, artist, and secret journalist. Krista discovered Ice911 via a fundraising event where she volunteered in order to see what we were all about and lucky for us, she decided to get more involved and help us grow!

Tim Player
is our summer intern from Harvey Mudd College. He’s applying his systems engineering training to directly impact vital climate science. He’s working closely with our principal engineer, Alex Sholtz, to design a next-generation set of scientific measurement buoys. On the weekends, Tim enjoys taking long hikes and bike rides on local trails.

Our new team members complement our dedicated staff, governing board and advisory board. We have many achievable goals and when the synergy of a team comes together like this, it serves to lift our spirits and fuel our mission to reach its highest possible outcome, which ultimately, will serve our precious planet and humanity as a whole.

We’ll end with one of our favorite team quotes:
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
