The Global Climate Action Summit is a launchpad for deeper worldwide commitments and accelerated action from countries—supported by all sectors of society—that can put the globe on track to prevent dangerous climate change and realize the historic Paris Agreement. Worldwide, states and regions, cities, businesses and investors are leading the charge on pushing down global emissions by 2020, setting the stage to reach net zero emissions by midcentury.
During the Summit, Dr. Field and co-panelists Dr. Brent Constantz, Founder and CEO of Blue Planet and Peter Fiekowsky, Founder and President of Healthy Climate Alliance explored the mission of climate restoration. They laid out some of the solutions that can get us there, which would be creating jobs and an an overall economic benefit in the process. The panel was moderated by Marianna Grossman, Founder and Managing Partner of Minerva Ventures.
“Speaking as part of this global summit is an honor, as well as a sign that people are in search of pragmatic, safe and actionable solutions to reduce climate change impacts. Our work, which is aimed at restoring Arctic ice, has the potential to slow global temperature rise, slow sea level rise, and reduce severe storms, droughts and wildfires. Every degree matters. Every degree is worth fighting for.” ~ Dr. Leslie Field
The Summit brings community leaders together from around the world to take ambition to the next level. It’s a moment to celebrate the climate action movement and achievements of states, cities, companies and world citizens.
